HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION 1967-36 ~''y ~~, CITY OF KEANI----RcSOLUTION 67--/ ~i DETERMINATION OF'~EED FOR, DESIRABLE EXTENT OF AN ESTIf1ATED COMFIITMENT FOR IMPROVEMENTS OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS DISTRICT NO 2 WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Kenai have authorized issuance of general obligation bonds of the City of Kenai to finance for street improvements on 28 February 1967, and WHEREl1S, the ordinances of the City of Kenai required a determination by the city anu as to the "need for, extent of, and estimated cast permitted for the said street improvement, WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the health and welfare of the resident of the City of Kenai to undertake said improvemetts as more particularly ~ESCribEd an the Engineer's Plans for "Water, Sewer, And Fissociated Str~:et Improvements 1967" AND WHEREAS, the Charter cf the: City of Kenai permits improvements to be established an the initiative of the City Council, NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Kenai hereby resolved as follows: (1) It is hereby determined to be in the interest of the health and welfare of the Citizens of Kenai to perform said street improvements district generally described above. 2. It is determined that the area described herein cr more particularly described on a plat of the said area, constitutes the desirable extent of the street improvements. 3. It is determined that the expenditures on this project shall not exceed 662/3 of the total authorized amount voted for bonds in the special election held 28 February 1967. 4. The extent of the said improvement District No. 2 is as indicated on the above described plans which are on file. 5. This determination has been arrived after consultation with property owners to be effected by the improvements in question and by hearing held on 5th day of July 1967. 6. The preliminary informat on furnished to thils city by the engineer and the present status has bean reported are hereby adopted and shall constitute the report on this project. 7. Action taken in preliminary investigations or actions for, by any member of the city's staff or at the direction of the City Manager prior to the date of this resolution are hereby adopted and ratified. 8. It is hereby determined that the proposed Street Improvement District flo. 2 shall be proceeded with and the City Manager is hereby directed to take all required actions to accomplish installations within the limitations set forth in ths: plans and specifications. 9.
