HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION 1967-37~, ___ _ - r _~ - --~ ---.. pA~ CITY OF KEN/!I---RESOLUTIOP~ 67-- 37 DETERMINATION OF NEED FOR, DESIRABLE EXTENT OF AND ESTIi4l1TED COMMITMENTS OF IP+PROVEMENTS DESIGNATED AS PiiVING IMPROVEMENTS DISTRICT N0. 1 WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Kenai have authorized issuance of general obligation bonds the City of Kenai to finance the construction of street paving, said authorization having been voted on 28 February 1961, and WHEREAS, the ordinances of the City of Kenai require a det- ermination by the city and as to the "need for, extent of, and estimated cost permitted for the said improvement by the paving of streets, WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the health, welfare of the residents of the City of Kenai to concentrate paving improvements priority activity on (here enter names of the streets) f4ain Street ~~ission Avenue Peninsula Avenue, Overland Avenue, Broad Street Bluff Street Willow Street and Cook Avenue AND WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Kenai permits improve- ments to be established on the initative of the City Council, NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Kenai hereby resolves as follows: It is hereby determined tc be in the interests of the health as:,: w."Mare of the citizens of Kenai to stall paved streets in an area designated street improvement No. ~ generally described ac covering those above motioned stree s. 1. It is determined that the area described herein or more part- icularly described cn a plat of the said area, constitutes the desirable extent of the improvements and should receive priority consideration. 2. It is determined that the costs to be undertaken by the City not exceed 40~ of the total authorized amount voted for bonds in the special election held 28 February 1967. 3. The extent of tl~e said street improvement District No 1s as indicated on the attached plat which shall be filed herewith. 4. This determination has been arrived at after consultation with parties to be effected by the improvement in question and shall be further ratified by hearing to be held on 5th day of~Jul,~ 1968 5. The preliminary information furnished to t s city by the engineer and the present status hr+s reported and said report is hereby adopted. 6. Actions taken in preliminary investigations of street improve- ment District No. 1 by any member of the city's staff or at the direction of the City Manager prior to the date of this resolution are hereby adopted and ratified. 7. 1± is hereby determined that the proposed street improvement District No. 1 be proceeded with the manager is hereby directed to take all required actions tc accomplish construction of said district. 8. It is hereby determined that the allocation of costs shall ba generally that the city shall pay 1/3, and the abuttin -property owners shall each pay a 1/3 share. Passed ,~ day of ~~rp~ 1967.
