WHEREAS, the City of Kenai has now se~:ured cuff i f~ i ent fire fighting equipment by use of t.ax funds to furnish protection vJithin the eorparate limits of the Cit~~ of K.eiiai, a:>d, I ~ WHEREAS, the strurfiural growth wi+:hin r,he lit;/ of Yer~ai i.s such as to require f+;11 time coverale, and, G,TIIEREAS, the ~'it,y of Kenai w i snes to furnis]•f its equipment for use outside the City of Kenat on a cor,trartflal basis only. NOW TIiEREFORE BE fT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COIJhiCI L OF THE CTTY OF KENAI, ALASKA, THAT: 1. No fire fighting equipment vrill be dispatched to an area beyora3the Corporate Limits of the City of Kenai unless there i is sufficient equipment retained within the cit;~ to cover any ' possible emergency needs. 2. A11 equipment so dispatched outside the City Limits shall be on•an Implied Cantract~~al basis. The person who shall call for the equipment (the owner of the property to be served) shall ~~ presume to agree to pay for the use of said equipment by the act of placing the call for service. ~SA.o• 3. There shall be charged the fee of $~$Ar99 for each piece of fire fighting equipment (excluding the Flre Chief's vehicle), which shall be dispatched to answer a fire call outside the corporate limits of the City of Kenai. Said charge shal]. be billed by the City Clerk and shall go into the General Fund from which the cost of the Fire Department are paid. 4. Fire coverage under mutual assistance agreement with Wildwood Air Force Station shall be excluded from thls resolution, 5. Tt shall be the policy of the City of Kenai. that the New American Le France Truck nor the Fire Chief shall be dispatched outside the City of Kenai unless in the opinion of the Fire Chief, or in his absence, the /'ssistant Fire f;hief, there is adequate equipment in the City to cover any contingency which might arise.
