Councilwoman Glick said we have provisions in the Attorney's budget for travel that Mr. Rogers could use. If he is not interested in something Atty. Delahay had funded to attend, he could use these funds for his own use. Atty. Delahay said he thought Mr. Rogers had someting more comprehensive in mind. He didn't know where he could find those. It is mostly Just getting in these and digging for it and going to Municipal League. Councilman Measles said he thought that was what Mr. Rogers was interested in. Mayor O'Reilly suggested having a meeting with Mr. Rogers and bringing a report back to Council at the Sept. 13 meeting. Councilman Wagoner said he did not agree with hiring an employee and then negotiating. We should have a set salary schedule. There should be a probationary period. Councilman Hall asked, is it important for an attorney to have a background in municipal law? Atty. Delahay replied yes, he has to learn Title 29 and the Charter of the City. Councilwoman Glick noted we did the same with Atty. Delahay and City Manager Brighton.
