HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-06-14 Council Minutesal MINUTES, KENAI CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING JUNK 14, 1972 RECESSED TO 8:00 P.M. - CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE The Mayor brought the meeting back to order at 8:10 p.m. in the City Manager's office. ROLL CALL: Members Present - Robert Bielefeld, James Doyle, Jim orna ay, ug alone* and Mayor John Steinbeck. Members Absent - Tru McGrady, Bob Norene and Junior ounce man NiVarre. The City Manager read a telegram from Senator Ted Stevens relating that the General Services Administration released the FAA Housing to the City of Kenai for use in connection with the Airport. ! The City Manager related to Council that the Public Utilities Commission will be holding a public hearing on telephone tariffs Wednesday, June 21, 7:30 p.m. at Fort Kenay. The City Manager stated that Basil Bolstridge will be at the next Council meeting concerning Valhalla Heights. The City Manager related that we have a number of un- collected bills amounting to $13,578.49. The administration would like Councils permission to publish these bills, the names of the person and the amount delinquent, in the paper. It was the consensus of Council to publish these in the paper. The Acting City Attorney, Mary Kulawik, is checking on an ordinance as to whether we have one and if we need one. The City Manager stated that the Alaska Municipal League '_t Board of Directors and Legislative Committee meetings will be held in Kenai June 22, 23 & 24th. -- Tentative schedule is as follows: --- Thursday - Legislative Committee meeting - Informal dinner FRUlaa— Board Members tour - 11:30-3:00 - Phillips Petroleum, e copter ride to one of the platforms - afternoon meeting - Cocktail dinner party, City Manager's house. G - 4 Engineering Contract - Galliett Mary Kulawik, Acting City Attorney, presented Council with a revised contract between Galliett and the City. After much discussion on this contract, Council asked for the Administration's recommendation. It is the Administration's recommendation to accept the fill contract with Mr. Galliett as presented to Council for the fee of $92,800 to include preliminary designs, final designs, and general supervision withholding the special services project until later. Bielefeld moved and Doyle seconded to accept the recommendation of the administration to accept the contract with Harold Galliett for the fee of $92,800 to include preliminary designs, final designs and general supervision withholding the special services project until later.
