SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 22, 1971
8:00 P.M. - CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE
ROLL CALL: Members present - Robert Bielefeld, James Doyle,
James Horna ay, Hugh Malone, Tru McGrady, Robert
Norene, and Mayor John Steinbeck.
Members absent - None
G: NEW BUSINESS
G - 1 Awarding of Bid - Fort Kenay Complex
The City advertized and opened the bids at 2:00 P.H.
September 22 1971. The engineers estimate on the
project was J6,450. There was only one bid in the
amount of $11,267.00 from Robert Oehler.
' The Administration recommends that all bids be
rejected and the project be re -bid in the spring.
Doyle moved and Norene seconded to accept the City
Manager's -recommendation and reject all bids and re-
bid in the spring. The motion carried unanimously
by roll call vote.
The Administration was directed to write a letter
to Mr. Oehler, thanking him for his bid and inviting
him to bid again in the spring.
G - 2 Awarding of Bid - Airport Project 71-1
The City advertized and opened the bids at 2:00 P.M.
September 22, 1971. The engineers estimate was
$137.441.25.
The Administration recommends that the contract be
awarded to the low bidder, Anchorage Asphalt and
Paving Co. Inc. at $108,661.10, subject to the approval
of the Federal Aviation Administration on their review
of the bids and also on their participation in the
project with a grant to the City of Kenai.
Bielefeld moved and McGrady seconded to accept the
City Manager's recommendation and award the contract
to Anchorage Asphalt and Paving Co. Inc. at $108,661.10,
subject to the approval of the Federal Aviation

on their participation in the project with a grant
to the City of Kenai. The motion carried unanimously
by roll call vote.

G - 3 Awarding of Bid - Public Safety Building
The City Manager reported the opening of the bids for
the Public Safety Building has been extended for
two weeks. The projected oPening to be October 6,
1971 at 10:00 A.M.
