Mayor Dye opened tne meeting to -ublic discussion.
The Clerk reported on a -1hone call from Galliett wherein Tibbs and i1aller had
requested assistance on a site elan for dry (lock, boat stora(!,- and boat renair
on Lot 3, Sec. 9.
After considerable discussion, Seanan moved. McCann seconded, to reject tha 26t
gas offered by Union Oil. Motion nasscd unanimously by roll call vote.
More discussion followed: Union Oil said the nrice of oasis determined by a
numbar of factors; volume -rarchased, amount in the reservoir, whether it's to
one large custorger; whether the customer puts in the I ine of not, etc. '•Ir.
Smith said he could not Five an answer to Cnuncills rt-quast fnr 21t gas now.
Thyy would have to review their costs, etc.
Council felt the line was being cnnstruct-:d to servi the Stard ail rields, and
whether Kenai purchased gas or not would 1:ave no effect on amortization of the
cost of tile iine, etc.
McCann moved, khrin seconded, we could vro-nose a price of 21t with three tails,
on a 20 yr. contract with an ontion for an additional If,) yrs, and in return
the City would give every consideration possible for rights -of -way tnTOugh
the City. motion passed unanirously by 'roll call vote.
Mayor Dye expressed the hope the City and Union oil could work out their differ-
ences; lie was sorry the discussions had come to this stage, and it was unfortun-
ate there was such a little time for deliberations.
Mr. Dunhan stated he was sorry also, he thought the nrice of 2(,t was very fair;
that eas in the States sold for 32 to 35t where cost of prnduction was much low6—r.
Mr. Smith and co-workers will have to consider the Citv's losition.
