Meeting was calleJ to order at 8:03 p.m. Mayor Dye asked if there was any protest as to
procedures in ballot re-count wnica took place Friday 17 May 1:163. There being no protest,
Mayor Dye administered the oath to newly elected Councilmen E. Knackstedt and Billy AcCann.
Roll call showed all members present but % T.Sims.
Council resolved itself into board of Equalization to hear petitions remaining, from last
week's meeting:
1. Mr. J.W.Tnompson: Mr. Morgan Moved, Lofstedt seconded, to accept Mr. J.19.Thompson's
y evaluation on Thompson Park Subdiv. and homestead, with the exception of the swampy ground
which goes at $25.00 per acre. Motion passed. Mr. Thompson submitted schedule of evalua-
tions for lots in subdivision plus a plat of nomestead which includes Subdiv. (29.4 acres).
2. Jerry Thompson: McCann moved, Swires seconded, assessment be S300.00 on bldg.and $350.-
for one care of land. Motion passed. Mr. J.K.Thompson owns the remaining 6 [10] acres
and will submit a plat of this parcel to the City. Remaining acreage is to be assessed at
$350.00 per acre. Mr. Morgan dissented on passage of this motion.
• 3. Stanley Thompson - Kaknu Subdivision: Morgan moved, McCann seconded, Mr. Stan Thompson's
assessment stand as is. Motion passed.
4. James G. Dye -formerly R. Krause - changed to $5,776.00 due to error in square footage.
• a.E. Hollier - accepted change of trailer space assessment as made by Glenn McKee.
6. Morris Killen, Mommsen Addition #1 - Commercial lots stand as assessed at S2,000.00 each.
7. Ray Gee: 19,800 square feet evaluated at 274 a square foot. Morgan dissented.
S. Barney Dawson: Land evaluated at 16a per sq. ft.= $4,184.- buildings at S1,812.-
In order not to delay the Atty any longer, Council agreed to hear his report at this time.
Copy of an ordinance had been received from Bond Counsel re school bonds. Mr. Morgan moved,
Swires seconded, oral reading of Ord. #46 be waived. Motion passed. It was revealed the
Charter requires oral reading, so Morgan moved, Swires seconded, the former motion be rescinded
'NiMotion passed.Mr. Morgan presented Ord. #46 and moved, Knackstedt seconding, an emergency
be declared on Ord.#46. Passed unanimously. Mr. Morgan moved, Swires seconded, to accept
Ord. #46 for final passage. Passed unanimously. Special meeting will be held Monday, 27 May

Council resumed status as Board of Equalization:
9. John T. Burn: accepted tiurn's figures on land but bldg. remains the same.
10. Florian Tschmelitsch: no change.
11. Dale Bondurant, decision made lat week, and verified chis meeting,.
t 12. Alaska Packers requested segregation of parcel being leased by Standard Oil. This was
t done in 1962.
Mayor Dye reported KenaiPower hopes to be at the new school by 1 July. Lease Co. needs
power before that.
Clerk was instructed to pay Wages in full for men working for FAA Survey and to keep a close
accounting of costs.
Joe Kuchta was appointed to inspect Killen's Water System, Mommsen Additions.
