James Doyle in.luired who authorized Standard's filling, of tanks on airport, and was informed the City will alternate amounn Cie three oil companies in purc:iasinp fuel until an invitation for proposals can be issued. `Ir. Strandberg reported approx. 3 niles of line nave been constructed serving 29 new customers and more applying all the timem plus 12 hook-ups within the City; he will present a graph next week showing the progress of )XI. -the plant is nroducing 150 kw over last year; says the Dept. of Revenue has an auger that has been claimed for taxes and Ar. Ir. 'IcCann moved, Knackstedt seconded, to authorize Mr. Strandberg to accept the proposal of HEA for crossing and to operate on incoming revenues for expansion and construction. Motion ;gassed unanimously. Some discussion was ,field on hiring personnel who reside in the City. Council's policy has been to accord preference to a resident in the event two persons of equal ability apply. 4 Correspondence was read; Letter from Mrs. Petersen (Library Board) thanking the City for $200.00 donation to the Library, and also a brief history of the new flag and flag pole --the flag holds an official certificate that it has flown over the Canitol at Washington; Letter from Carpenters Union re use of local labor on City projects; letter from Dr. Spencer re Code; letter from Lars Johnson, Director of Div. of Aviation announcing execution of documents enabling transfer of funds from State to City in the amount of $332,010.00. Mr. Morgan moved, !tcCann seconded to take the City Code off the table. :lotion passed. Mr. Morgan moved, Morin seconded, to place the Code on the agenda every week until it is passed. Motion passed. Clerk reported: request from Mr. linzler for return of 4 timbers which has been rented by Mr. Kuchta @ $15.03 for two days for moving, the quonset from Wildwood to City ground --also additional cost of $75.00 from Iloyt for moving the building; reported evaluation from the State for school tax purposes as: Real property-36,041,727; Personal Property-$1,208,345.00; J Boats $238,000.00; Total-$7,488,472.00 m 3 112 mills = $26,208.25, City's share of school budget for 1964. Clerk requested executive session at the close of meeting. I; Considerable discussion was held re Preston, Thorgrimson's letter re levy of 1964 tax to allow for issuance of water and sewer bonds. Council delayed action until Mayor Dye returns -!: from Seattle. ",:organ moved, �:orin seconded, to accept Res. #63-26. 'lotion passed unanimously. Atty. was directed to draft an ordinance taxinf personal property on trailers only using City Resolution #25 as a guide. Mr. Morgan presented Res. #63-27, Final Plat of Cinderella Subdivision. Xlr. Horgan moved, Morin seconded, to approve Res. Mb3-27 accepting the Final Plat of the Cinderella :iubdivision. Passed unanimously. Mr. Morgan moved, florin seconded, that tine Council authorize insurance for Coveyou's car when he's on City business. Passed unanimously. Mayor Swires reported Mr. Kuchta's request for letter to Div. of Health headquarters summing up the need for a part-time Clerk for the local iiealtii officer. After some discussion, Council agreed to refrain from entering into personnel business with the Dept. of health. Responsibility for the newly acquired flat-bed will be resolved after the Mayor's return. Dick Morgan reported: it will take about $1500 to $2000 to put the Cat in tip-top shape; Street budget for salaries is over -extended, but work will continue with additional funds to come from equipment and maintenance monies; Council adjourned -for executive session and reconvened in half hour. Atty. is directed to draft an ordinance requiring, all City taxes to be paid before liquor licenses are renewed.
