City Clerk and Mr. Dick wor-Aan was elected Mayor Pro-tem. Roll call showed all nerbers present but Carl "ae?man, ; and Mayor Swanson. Mr. Dick Williams of bush Lanes, Inc. explained the need for action on the � i proposed Ordinance 23, granting a liquor license for the bowling alley. Construct- ( i ion is being held up until it is known whether or not the license is to be granted. Mr. Chas. Archer spoke of the need for a water system in relation to the Fire Department and presented the 1962-63 Fire Dept. Budget '* Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Correspondence was read. Clerk's report was given. Mr. Chet Cone moved, TumSuden seconded, an emergency be declared regard- ing Ordinance 23. Motion passed. Mr. Cone asked about possibility of license being transferred and Mr. Williams assured him and the Council the license will be held in suspense until the Bowling Alley Building is constructed and ready to i operate. J Mr. Cone moved, TumSuden seconded, Ordinance 23 be accepted. Motion passed. Mr. Carl Swanson moved, McGahan seconded, the City accept the Fire Dept. 1962-63 budget as su%�itted. Motion passed with Mr. Morgan dissenting. Mr. Archer said it was all right for the City to use the Civil Defense flat-bed if care was exercised as the truck is old and needs repair. that Mr. Chet Cone moved, Morgan seconded,/the Council authorize Carl Swanson to sign the applications for the school land in Sec. 33, UN, R11'd. S.M. Roll call vote was as follows: Affirmative - Morgan, McGahan, Cone, Swanson and TumSuden; Negative - None. Motion passed. S Mr. Chet Cone moved, McGahan Seconded, that tor. Carl Swanson be authorized to sign the applications for the land in Sec. 25, T6N, R12Y1, S.M. for an elementary school. Roll Call vote: Affirmative - McGahan, Cone, Swanson, TumSuden; Negative - Morgan, Motion passed. Mr. McGahan moved, Cone seconded, the City pay the additional $31.97 to BLM r on the small boat harbor. (See letter of April 6, 1962, BLM files.)Motion passed. r Mr. McGahan moved, TumSuden seconded, the Cit7 pay half the cost of erecting, the City Sign on the Kenai Spur in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce. Motion passed. Mr. McGahan moved, TumSuden seconded, Mr. Morgan be authorized to sign the t' Standard Oil contract. Motion passed. Mr. TumSuden moved, McGahan seconded, we do not accept any restricted deed easements, and petitioners confine themselves to the standardized City forms. Morgan and approved by Council. i The Clerk was instructed to place on the agenda of the first meeting after the May 8, 1962 election the subject of a representative on the Kenai Fort Committee.
