Xr. Dobenspeck- was scheduled to be heard in regard to the sales tax and
that he felt that the purchases nade were contracted and t'at his
company could circumvent the sales tax because the r.erchandise was being
delivered via cor-r-on carrier. ::r. Dobens ecl: also mentioned that the
Alaska Packers had paid the sum of .�50,16&.89 in cannery tax to the State
of Alaska for the year 1960. Mr. Dobenspeck expressed hi.. view that the
10% of this cannery tax was not a larLe sure to be refunded to the munici-
pality and that he was lobbying; to -et more return for the City of Kenai.
Trans -Alaska Telephone represented by I:r. Ed Valentine, questioned the
rate charges of the Kenai Power Corporation. Trans -Alaska was being
billed at the old rate. ::r. Valentine reported tUvt there was a ;�50.00
differential in the last month's bill.
Motion by McGehan, seconded by Hayes authorized the Clerk to pay current
bills which were as follows:

Clerk was directed to contact Yir. Stan?olfe re�ardin- traffic code &
cost of impounding vehicles.
Motion by Seaman, seconded by !cGahan to rescind motion regarding
Sanitarian on March 21, 1961. Motion was not carried: Seaman, XcGahan
voted No; Hayes & Morgan voted yes. The council directed the Clerk to
proceed with the contract for the Sanitarian.
'. The Liquor License transfer in the nai.-e of I.Ir. D ragseth was held pending
inTestigation until next regular session of Counril.
Motion by Morgan, seconded by Seaman to accept the City of Kenai Dudget
as revised. Passed unanimously.
The Clerk was directed to contact 'i.'r. Therman D. 3herard regarding dust
control of State roads in Kenai.
Motion by M organ, seconded by Seaman, that a '.2.00 charge be levied on
p reproduction of accident reports. Passed unanimously.
