Mayor John Swanson Chet Cone Hato Dolchok Helen Jones Carl Swanson Dick Morgan Sept. 13, 1960 Mayor Swanson called the meeting to order at S;00P.M. Mr. Ditto of the Trans -Alaska Telephone company was introduced and spoke of future plans of Trans -Alaska in this area. He asked that the city support his request that the army te19pkeree poles be used by his company. Chet Cone motioned the council contact General Armstrong and ask him if it would not be possible to use the army pole line for 'Frans -Alaska lines or work out a mutual agreement as Trans -Alaska has an easement for h&s their lines where the arty line is standing. The motion was seconded by Helen Jones. the Motion unanimously passed. Mr. McKee was introduced to discuss and clarify his plans for tax assessment and land appraisal in the City of Kenai. Dick Morgan motioned that iskResolution Nw ber I, the 3% be changsd to read 2%. ;het Cone seconded the motion. The motion unanimously passed. Mayor Swanson called for a vote on Resolution Nmnber I. Assenting votes: ChetCone, Hail Dolchok, Carl Swanson, Dick Morgan. 4 ayes. Dissenting votes: John Swanson, Helen Jones. 2 noes. The resolution passed. The clerk was requested to write to the City Attorney inquiring about granting franchises. f� Mr. Jerry Hobart offered his services as patrolimg police protection until further plans could be made. ,[The clerk was instructed to write to Chief Vickery of Kodiak, Alaska for j ('police ordinances of that city. Helen Janes motioned that the administrator of Director of Courts be written _ to asking that Mfg. Jess Nicltless be made city magistrate. The Motion was seconded by Carl Swanson. Carl Swanson motioned a land evaluation board, a minimum of five and of an odd number, be appointed. Helen Jones seconded the motion. The motion unanimously passed.
