PERSONS PRESENT SCHEDULED TO BE HEARD a. Jim Simeroth - Discussion of Summer Activities The Committee p~aised the activities of the summe~ work c~ews, this summe~ havlng gone bette~ under the supervision of M~. Sime~oth. The Committee noted some p~oblem a~eas: Cunningham Pa~k and the Municipal Pa~k. These two places belng in the worst condition du~lng the summe~ wlth t~ash, also a le[[e~ was ~eceived from a citizen ~ega~dlng the sanitary facilities. It was agreed that ~hese two piaces get [he heavles[ t~affic, the largest pa~t being from ~he tou~is~ sector, i.e. campers and RV's. Suggestions were to emp[¥ the t~ash and the sani[a~y faclll[ies mo~e often; conside~ closing the municipal pa~k to vehlcles allowing foot [~affic only; close [he pa~k entirely to anything but picnicking and o[he~ sho~t te~m activities; and expanding Cunningham Pa~k. Bill B~ighton explained that ~he~e were plans by p~ivate individuals to p~ovide some RV space ~his coming summe~, however, it would not appea~ to be la~ge enough to accommodate the heavy [~affic generated. The Committee discussed [he possibility of dividing the Beautification and Pa~ks & Rec depts, having one person for each department ins[cad of one person ove~ both, however, it did not appear feasible.
