5. OLD BUSINESS
a ?___ Equipment
The Committee discussed equipment which may prove useful to the Parks
c~ew du~ ing t he summer:
gas powered edge~
gas powered sweepe~
lawn mowe~
rototiller
It was noted that since the Committee did not have access ~o the
amounts currently in the budget, nor ~he equipment actually on hand,
it was requested that Janet check with Kayo on a needs 1is~ and money
available.
b. ~_ Kasp~isin P~oposals
The Committee discussed possible designs which would cost considerably
less, since the scope and cost of doing just one of the triangles
would not be within the interest of taxpayers. One proposal discussed
was to establish a park with playground equipment and picnic tables
creating a municipal park type atmosphere. The second was to simply
bare footpaths, flowers, shrubs, etc., and perhaps a gazebo.

The Committee.noted the improvements to the cemetery and the fact that
the City has taken control of it through locking the fence and leaving
it open only to foot t~affic, setting p~ocedu~es fo~ gaining plots,
etc. The Committee also noted that a vital asset to the cemetery in
te~ms of upkeep would be water. It was requested that Janet check
with the public works department on the possibility of hooking up to a
wate~ line o~ digging a well which would serve the cemetery and
perhaps surrounding a~ea.

COMMITTEE QUESTIONS & COMMENTS
Chairman Wisniewski informed the Committee that the $oldotna
Beautification Committee has tamps which they sell to the public fo~
the purpose of cove~ing trash on its way to the dump. Chairman Wisniewski
suggested the Kenai Committee do the same. It would certainly benefit
the City in te~ms of cove~ed t~ash and ~evenue. Janet is to check
with the Flnance Dept.
