OLD BUSINESS a ?___ Equipment The Committee discussed equipment which may prove useful to the Parks c~ew du~ ing t he summer: gas powered edge~ gas powered sweepe~ lawn mowe~ rototiller It was noted that since the Committee did not have access ~o the amounts currently in the budget, nor ~he equipment actually on hand, it was requested that Janet check with Kayo on a needs 1is~ and money available. b. ~_ Kasp~isin P~oposals The Committee discussed possible designs which would cost considerably less, since the scope and cost of doing just one of the triangles would not be within the interest of taxpayers. One proposal discussed was to establish a park with playground equipment and picnic tables creating a municipal park type atmosphere. The second was to simply bare footpaths, flowers, shrubs, etc., and perhaps a gazebo. BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE Novembe~ 12, 1985 - 12:00 PM Page 2 c. NEW BUSINESS a.~ cemetery .... c0mmlttee Rep0r.t .... (.m!nu.te_s_ enclosed The Committee.noted the improvements to the cemetery and the fact that the City has taken control of it through locking the fence and leaving it open only to foot t~affic, setting p~ocedu~es fo~ gaining plots, etc. The Committee also noted that a vital asset to the cemetery in te~ms of upkeep would be water. It was requested that Janet check with the public works department on the possibility of hooking up to a wate~ line o~ digging a well which would serve the cemetery and perhaps surrounding a~ea. 7. PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION REPORT Minutes Enclosed J COMMITTEE QUESTIONS & COMMENTS Chairman Wisniewski informed the Committee that the $oldotna Beautification Committee has tamps which they sell to the public fo~ the purpose of cove~ing trash on its way to the dump. Chairman Wisniewski suggested the Kenai Committee do the same. It would certainly benefit the City in te~ms of cove~ed t~ash and ~evenue. Janet is to check with the Flnance Dept. ?
