Don Aase present as requested to ~eport on elea~ed t~ees on City ROW.
M~. Aase explained that a young man in his employ cut down trees on
the p~ope~ty leaving no buffe~. 0n1¥ I o~ 2 were on state ROW. High
winds took what t~ees were left.
Vice Chairman Cole stated, we need something in w~iting from Mt. Aase
about resolving the l~ue. What le needed i~ a plat with detalle of
t~ee~ to replace tho~e cut.
It was agreed by M~. Aase and the Board that M~. Aase would p~esent a
plan to the 8oa~d at thei~ meeting of Novembe~ 5th. Mr. Aase to meet
with Planning Specialist Lope~ early enough to be in the Board packet.

M~s. Buzzell asked to speak to the Board concerning ROW standards fo~
utilities. In question- A11ak, McCollum, Highbush, Swipes a~ea which

is being upgraded. At the time of construction the contrac[o~ and the
utility companies wen~ through and "demolished" the a~ea, cutting
down t~ees, driving across lawns, tea~ing out shrubbery, etc. Is
~he~e some ~Ule, anyone cha~ged with keeping ~ack of what contractors
do? Shouldn'~ ~hey be made to put back costly shrubs and ~eplace
d~ivewaye.

Planning Specialist Lope~ stated that the City contracts the work out,
therefore the approach may be to place stipulations in the contract.
Vice Chairman Cole and M~s. 8uzzell stated that this is done in o~he~
states and the requirements are quite stringent. Planning Specialist Loper
~ecommended M~s. 8uzzell document p~oblems and submit ~o
Administration. Vice Chairman Cole stated that he felt the Board
should add,ess removal of trees on ROWs by utility companies.
