Presentation of Banner Material Heidi Snow of 3uneau, came to Kenai on February 20th to tout and take pictures in order to prepare a group of designs that would be just for Kenai. Mrs. Snow also left a sample banner, a group of slides, and several boards depicting he~ designs. Most of her designs ave in ~he 3uneau Marine Ra~k area and have met with success. Mrs. Snow's banners are guaranteed for 4 yea~s. Avetage cost is roughly estimated at $300. The owner of Inlet Imports was contacted and information ascertained concerning her banner. The banner was made by High Flying Glags & Banners in Seattle, are made of very much the same material, are guaranteed for 5 yea~s, and are also roughly $~00. Valley Decorating. has been contacted numerous times regarding, the brackets on the light poles to ascertain if they could be adjusted to allow' for an arm that would hold the banners. After over a week, no answer has come from this company. Secretary Loper directed to continue efforts to contact that company. The Committee discussed placement of the banners. The~e are three main a~eas for the banners, 1) the Spu~ Highway on the light poles, 2) the Airport T~iangle in a g~ouping, and ~) the Downtown Triangle, also in a grouping. Since the Airport Way construction wii1 take place this .yea~ and the ~oad will p~obably be to~n up the summe~ months, and .. landscaping p~obably won't be done untiI Iate in the summe~ o~ fall, this point was eliminated fo~ now.
