Review of Landscaping Plan: Lots9 & 12, Aleyeska S/D - Kambe ........... ~__Theat. er .... r_~ Mr., ..... Douq .... S.ale:s ................................................ ' ........... ~m~mL~ ~ ............................. Mr. Sales p~esented a drawing which depicted 12.7% of the total square footage of the p~operty landscaped. Mr. Sales wished to dec, ease that amount as he had not had a chance to ~eview the plans before submittal to the City. M~. Sales and the owners desire to begin construction/ ~enovation of ~he building tomorrow as the weathe~ is mild enough to allow an early start. The east and west bo~ders of the p~operty show an unbroken line of t~ees, the Board and M~. Sales agreed to cluste~ the t~ees in g.~oups of 2 and ) eliminating the line. The west bo~der o~ lot 9 has a la~ge sign which would be hidden, therefore the tree cluste~ will be at the no~th end of the median strip. The north side of the p~ope~ty lies on a public utility easement and at one time was used fo~ an alley fo~ the old post office. Since traffic has used this alley, any trees would have a ha~d time surviving.. M~. Sales p~oposes to cluste~ } t~ees on the west corne~ of lot 9. LANDSCAPING REVIEW BOARD Minutes February 12, 1986 Page 2 The d~awing shows a line of shrubs nex~ to the building on the sou~h side. Mr. SaIes and the Board agreed to decrease the amount, again to clusters rathe~ ~han a Iong line. The existing willows a~ the no~h and south corne~s of lot 12 a~e to ~emain. A la~ge ~illow on the adjoining lot lines of ~ and I2 is nea~ an electrical pedastai. This willow wiiI remain unless ail efforts ~o save it fail and it becomes absolutely necessary to remove i~ to make the electrical connecti°ns. All t~ees Iis~ed as existing will remain. The plat was signed by all pa~ties and approved. The changes in the landscaping design a~e within ~he 5,% limitation. 6~ BOARD QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS Howard Hackney ~efe~red to a new section of the o~dinance which ~equires deveIopers to come before the Board when a building permit involves $10,000. An example is Don Aase who came before ~he Board in November. M~. Aase obtained a pe~mi~ fo~ the foundation oniy and now wilI come back fo~ a permit fo~ the ~est of the building which wili exceed the $10,000. While it is another permit, it is a continuation of the same buiiding already ~eviewed by the Board. The code does no~ define situations such as ~his. It was the consensus of the Board that the plan had already been reviewed and approved, therefore to ensure no confusion in the matter, the .plat was again sign and dated 2/11/86. ?. AD3OURNMENT The~e being no fu~he~ business, ~he meeting, was adjourned. The next re§uiar meet:in~ of the Board is luesday, Februry 25th at: 7:00 PM. 3anet Lope~ Planning. Specialist
