ACTION MINUTES
A.CALL TO ORDER
A Regular Meeting of the Council on Aging was held on December 14, 2023, at the Kenai Senior Center,
Kenai, AK. Chair Craig called the meeting to order at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Chair Craig led those assembled in the Pledge of Allegiance.

There were present:

A quorum was present.

Member Ayers MOVED to approve the agenda. Member Modigh SECONDED the motion.

1. Discussion/Recommendation - Recommending Council Consideration of the Council on
Aging FY2025-FY2029 Capital Improvement Project Priority List
MOTION:
Member Ayers MOVED to recommend City Council Consideration of the Council on Aging FY2025-
FY2029 Capital Improvement Project Priority List. Member Pettey SECONDED the motion.
Discussion ensued.
UNANIMOUS CONSENT was requested on the motion.
VOTE: There being no objection; SO ORDERED.
G. REPORTS
1. Senior Center Director – Senior Center Administrative Assistant Red Piersee reported on the
following:
• Unassigned congregate meals have posed a reimbursement and reporting challenge.
• Challenges in recruitment and retention of Senior Center volunteers.
2. Council on Aging Chair – Chair Craig expressed gratitude for the Senior Center and its meals
program.
3. City Council Liaison – No report.

I. NEXT MEETING ATTENDANCE NOTIFICATION – January 11, 2024

Member Pettey thanked the Council on Aging members, noting it was her last meeting before joining the
