a. Pepsi Not Shot Games
Paul Larson from Kenai area fin~shed secand in his age group and one
other boy from Kenai finished third. Jerry Lewis was attending, and
one of the boys from Kenai got his autograph.
b. City Leaque Basketball
Th~re are 15 teams this year; a Ieague has 7 and b league has 8. This
is down 5 teams fram last year. Skrimage practiee times start~d th~s
evening, ~Cayo may set a~ide some time in the Kena~ gym for tournaments
with oth~r communities.
c. Teen ~enter
A dance was held ati th~ Cen~er by the staff, the price of admiss~on
was canned goods which were donated to the Salvation Rrmy. Approx-
imately $244 worth c~f canned goo~s was donated to the facility for
Christmas.

Kay~ had requested a hydraul~.c lift sy~tem which would li~'t a worker
ta make r~pairs on lights and ceilings. ~t wa~ tiabled by the Council
with the recommer~dativn that Kayo check with the Borough to s~e if a
laan arrangement could be made. The Boraugh state+d that they only had
one for the entire Borough s~hoal district which presents obvious
prob~.em~, however, it would be available for use by Kerrai~

Linda 5tafford has resigned, Louanne Reisbeck, formerly the Commu~ity
School~ Director has agreed to take her pasition. k.auan~e has been a
part time employe~ at the Center and is working on sor~e project~.

Chairman Nultberg noted that on hi~ last ~omm~unicativn wi~h the
Committee, ~hey had discussed the Anchorage landsc~ping architect
comin~ down and speaking to the group~ The original idea of the
Cnmmittee was to advertise to hire a planner to do a study and set up
a maintenance ~chedule far the downtown core area, how~ver, du~ to a
le~ter fr~m Mayar Waganer ~a Mayor Knowles to ~hare ane of Ancharage'~

decorations~ The anly other comment being that ~~ere ~hould have be~n

~he C~ty - they were p~urchased by th~ merchants af the Mall ~hrough

a. Comprehensive Plan Updat~
Th~ Commission went over some ideas introduced by Kaya. Mr.
McGillivray wan~s whoever became5 in ~harg~ o~` beautification to take
a look at the softball fields as those areas as they hav~ a potent~al
for a park-like setting.
Kayo M~Gillivray spoke af comment~ by Mayor Wagoner concerninq gras~
at the area af th~ triangle strip in ~rant of Time Saver. The parks
crew plante~ a goo~ stand of grass, however, there w~s no water
available until late.

a. Budget
1'he Finar~ce Director inf ormed Mr, McGillivray th~at the gym fund which
is a state grant and needs ta be spent or it reverts back ta th~
Sta~e. The lift that had been requested was turned down by Council.
1 5uggestions were raised and discussed wi~h no pasitiv~ decisian made.
9. CflMMISSIQ~V C4i~MENTS & QUEST~ON~
The Commission discussed problems with traffic flow of persons to and
frorn the gym, lost ~alls from the gym, etc.
