PERSONS SCHEDULED TO BE HEARD None APPROVAL OF MINUTES of 3une 10, 1986 Minu~es were approved as submitted 4. DIRECTOR' s REPORT a. Ballfields A great deal of discussion was held on the need fo~ additional ball fieIds. Mr. Measles and M~. Ove~ton were ~ep~esenting youth basebali and softbalI and A~t McComsey was speaking fo~ the adult softbalI associations. The p~ospect of losing the Spur Park fieid (dustbowl) will definitely affect both g~oups. Softbali needs one mo~e field (league play and tournaments) and little Ieague has a need for one senior (fuii size baseball) and one smaIle~ field fo~ majo~ o~ minor ieague piay. Both g~oups have seen increases in numbers of teams [his year. It appea~s that one softball field could be located no~th of T~ea~ Cabinets adjacent to the present fields. M~. McComssey indicated that he has volulntee~s with equipment to do much of the si~e p~eparation fo~ the field, getting it ready to plant. MOTION: Commissioner Carlson moved to ~ecomend to City Council that an additionai sol[bail field and two youth league fields be built as soon as possibie. The sof~baI1 fieId ~o be located in the a~ea north of Treat Cabinets.
