REGULAR MEETING - JULY 22, 1970

ROLL CALL: PRESENT - Ruby Goyle, Loretta Knackstedt, Nick Poppins,
Al Cruver., James Fisher, and Bob Norene
ALSO PRESENT - ~T. w. Thompson and George Jaynes

MINUTES: Minutes of Regular meeting of June :1.0, 1970 were approved
as corrected..
OLD BUSINESS:
Letter concerning Lester Ness .from the Kenai Peninsula
Borough. was read and discussed.
Discussion ensued on ~rrhat authority the City Planning
and Zoning Commission has and aril?. ?gave under the
proposed Kenai Peninsula Zoning Ordinance. Ruby Coyle
made a motion that Hordaday draft a Letter to the Attorney
General. as tr the passibility of. the City _resum.ng
author~..ty of City Planna.n.g and Zoning. Seconded by
Loret+.~~, Knackstedt. Passed Unanimously.
Fisher asked.'n~There are the maps the Borough promised us?"

(b) J. ~rJ. Thompson T,ras heard on Thompson Park S/D, Add. 2.
He .•~as ~~dvsed the S/D was already approved., but the City
may not accept the roads for maintenance as they are not
up to specifications. This is not a P & Z matter but
administrat~..ve.
(a) The Barotzgh comments were read on the :5cal.f S/D
(c ) Discussion ensued on the Resur=.~ey of T3TM Lots 38 ~: 39.
Knackstedt moved. to accept the plat slabject to approval. of
both parties, bath lots have ingrec:} and egress and to further
define the tr~c~.n..ty mar a.s submitted on plat, Seconded
by ??.uby Cnyl.e. Passed unanimously.
(d) Red Jayne, Trra.s heard an Street gaming a.nd Numbering. He
brought maps show~.ng the lay ou.t o.f the City. Discussion

Fisher made a motion. to use the Section line betTti*een. Section
,'~~? and 33 extending North and South as a guide line for. the
_! East -- ~sJest Sections and the Ken.a~. River as a guide line far t<he
South Section. Kn.a,ckstedt seconded.. Passed Unanimously.
Minutes Kenai Advisory Planning & Toning Commission - July 22, 1970 - continued
Fisher made a motion to try to use a, ca-ordin.ated system -
numerically North°ahd'-: South starting with 1st ~`t. and
alphabetically Fast and `:West starting with a name starting
with A. The names to be agreed upon by the neighborhood
concerned. Roads are to be 660 'apart. There will be no
name changes between Fast and West Airport boundaries.
Poppies seconded. Motion passed with Kn,ackstedt dissent~...ng.
Fisher made a motion that if a street i_s discontinuous for
mi. or from a natural barrier, such as a river, stump etc.
it is not necessary that it keep the same name. Poppies
