ALSO PRESENT - DA.RBY HO`vJELL ABSENT -RUBY COYLE, NICK POPPIN, JACK WILLIFORD MINUTES : 1~~.INUTES OF REGtTLAR MEETING OF AUGUST 26, 1970 ,MERE APPROVED AS READ . OLD BUSINESS: CHAIRMAN NORENE read a letter from th.e Borough Planning & Zoning Commission stating that they woixld send. review check Lists .a~ith the plats in approximately 2 months, how ever they wila_ start sending their staff reports with the plats right away. CHAIRMAN NORENE read a letter from the City Manager regarding the Tideland Survey. The survey is completed, however there are ~;hore Fishery Leases involved and frill be awhile before the transfer. A few questions arose. 1.. Has there been a consideration of money p7_an of the Tidelands? ?.. Does the Tideland Sur~,rey provide adequate inventory to the T:i_delands we are ent:~.ttled to? 3. Has there been a.ny consideration as to what protection there is going to be a.f_farded to the Shore Fisheries Lessees? It was discussed. and agreed upon to have a representative of the Kenai Advisory P & Z Commission to appear at the City Council Meetings. It was also discussed that the City P &_ ~ Commission kiave a representative of the City t.,o appear at the meetings of the P ~ Z Commission. Tt iras agreed. upon that tyre should ask the Council. what h.as i.appened to the Armory.; rr~de have received no responses to our correspondence. S .M. i.n the City of. Kenai &. replat as Terra - B subdivision be granted provided the 30' is matched adjacent to other roads. FISHER seconded -Passed Unanimously. As a footnote to the motion., we did not have adequate maps on this. The Gi_ty P R~ Z Commission received a petit~.on from the residents of Canda_elight Dr. ive i.n the City of Kenai to retain the name of the street. 'The street was originally na~aed by an early resident, Helen Jones and has historical and sentiment>a,l value to the older ~ residents. It .~ras signed by ten (10) residents. There were too many conflicting meetingsq iir. HoT,rell asked if. it would help if people ca me up with names. The chairman sai.!i the P & Z invited the public to submit names. Mr. Howell said he would try and stir up some interest in his neighborhood. FISHER made a motion to recess the public hearing until we could get more publicity and set it for the first meeting in September ie, September 9, .1970. CRi7VER seconded - passed iznanamously. It was also agreed upon to invite ,`Stan McLane and Sam Best to our next meeting. SECRET_ARX'S REPORT LORETTA KNACKSTEDT gave the Secretary's Report. She reported that the Borough Planning and Zoning Commission ~=oul.d like to have the City Planning & Zoning Commission to come up tf*ith recommendations and ideas etc. on the Kena-~ Peninsula Borough Ordinance 70-1, an Ordinance relating to aoning. It r~ras agreed upon to re-study and to make our comments on this ordinance. 9:10 PM
