REGULAR MEETING - SEPTEMBER 22, 1971

ROLL CALL: Members Present - James Elson, Al Hudson, James Fisher,
Loretta Knac stedt.
Members Absent - Al Cruver, Nick Poppin and Ruby Coyle
MINUTES: The minutes of September 8, 1971 were approved. as dis-
tributed.
Item 3
(a) Kenai Peninsula Borough Ordinance relating to zoning
After discussion regarding the Kenai Peninsula Borough
Ordinance 71-9 and the members of the Commission ex-
pressing concern over the fact that no response had
been received on the series of questions from the staff
of the Kenai Peninsula Borough Planning ~ Zoning
Department and the fact that the second. session of the
7th Legislature might be considering authorization
of Planning ~ Zoning within first class cities and
by first class cities and a further concern that the
Ordinance 71-9, implementing a proposed Comprehensive
planning might not be in the best interest of the City.
Elson moved and Hudson seconded that the Kenai
Assemblymen be advised that the Kenai Planning ~
Zoning Commission recommends a negative vote on the
approval of the Kenai Peninsula Borough Ordinance
71-9. The motion was passed unanimously with one
dissent.
Item 4 NEW BUSINESS
(a) Howard Hackney - Trailer Ordinance
The Commission discussed the matter of house trailers
and it was decided to take under consideration to
determine whether there is a need for a trailer ordin-
ance in the City of Kenai.
The meeting was adjourned.
