Members Absent - Nick Poppin (excused) ITEM 2: APPROVAL OF MINUTES REGULAR MEETING, JANUARY 12, 1972 MINUTE F PU L C AR G A UARX 1972, Coyle moved and Elson seconded to approve the minutes o£ regular meeting of January 12, 1972 and the minutes of public hearing of January 26, 1972, as distributed, ITEM 3 ; OLD BU5'TNESS __. Darbyshire repo-rted Kenai peninsula Borough Ordinance No, 71-~21, an ordinance xel,at,ng to zoning, was intro- duced to the assembly last fall. The Borough wi11 hold public hearings on the ordinance as soon as they receive comments from the cities. The ~ssemb],y xe~used to introduce Ordinance 719 because i,t zoned areas outside the City limits so the Borough Planning Commission adjusted the ordinance: again. Seldovia and Soldotna have endorsed the ordinance. Seward is i,n the process and Kenai and Homer haven't been heard ,~xa~, The new ardina,nce added 5 maps of the cities within the Borough, and implements only a portion of the compxehen- s;.ye plan (land use flan) , the other powers could be implemented only by a vote of the ~eopLe, MINUTES, PLANNING ~ ZONING COMMISSION, FEBRUARY 9, 1972 Page Two Item 3 continued. Mr. Glotfelty related the Borough and the City needs to get the ordinance introduced so public hearings can be held. and changes can be made. He doesn't agree with everything in the ordinance but it is a starting point. After much discussion, Coyle moved and Elson seconded we go on record as recommending this ordinance be sub- mitted to the Assembly for public hearings. The motion carried by roll call vote with Hudson dissenting. Lots K ~ L -~ Thompson Park Z ., Cunni;ngh_am Memorial Park 3, F.A.A. Tract - Football fields Tfiis wi~11 also p~o~ide toilet facilities at the Kenai Shur k~ark, Kenai Rifle/Archery Range and the Kenai Speedway, Elson moved and Coyle seconded to endorse the 1972-73 Park program.
