ITEM 3: OLD BUSINESS (a) Trailers Deferred until the next meeting* ITEM 4: NEW BUSYNESS ~a) Ernie Kleineick ~- Home Occu~at~o~ Mr. Kleineick stated he has b`eert operating a Di ng and Salvage Co. -.Search and Recovery.. He has been selling a little diving gear both sports and commercial, He finds there is a ready market far substantial sales, He has i purchased the odd Kenai Power building l,oeated on B-eaves Loop and plans to move it by h.is home behind Kenai Chxysler Center. The building is a sound bizildinga needing paint paneling, file etc. He will provide off street parking, Mr. Jaynes reported the area is zoned. suburban residential Elson moved to approve the Home Occupation.. The motion died for lack of a second. Mr. Hudson asked Mr. Kleineick to write up a report on his home occupation with a drawing of how the building will be placed on the lot in xelation to the ocher buildings and re-submit this to the Commission, ITEM 3; (b) F.A.A, Housing Mr. Glotfelty reported the F.A,A, Housing Ilse Plan is deferred until it is determined if there is enough. money in the budget. The audit should be available next Meek, The Council have proposed the mulit-family house and the newest house (flat roofed) be utilized for low income housing for the aged. It will cost between $10,000 and $15,000 for alterations. Council has approved the plan but not the monies until the audit is available. Mr. Hackney reported. there is a leak in the water main under the floor of the multi family unit. The floor will have to be broken up. The boiler is cracked, there are broken windows and various other alterations. ITEM 3: ~c) Stxeet Naming and Numbering Mr. Glotfelty stated the Administration plans to use one of our men this winter, in his spare time, to start making street signs from metal blanks, The City has not butdgeted for a massive program for signs. Mr. Jaynes is in charge of the S/D plats and caxds, Mr, Jaynes stated he is behind 2 or 3 months but is just a matter of going through the building permits. Chairman Hudson stated this is a worth. while project, The Commission have discussed this quite a bit and would like to see it go to completion, Mr, Glotfelty stated he would bring this back to Council, ITEM 4 ~d) Trading City lands for recreational lots. Mr. Glotfelty reported the City is in the process of getting Mr. Cruver's land appraised. The Gusty S/D Addition #1 is definitely in the Axport Land. The Administration is going to ask F,AA, if they would release this land for sale, Mr. Elson asked who is going to handle the maintenance of the new grass in the Urban Section. Mr, Glotfelty reported the City will pay for the electricity for the lights on the Urban Section, Next spring the State will pay for the lights on th.e intersections.. The State is in charge of maintenance of the sidewalks, grass and streets. The City may enter into a contract with them for maintenance of grass and sidewalks. The School Board may do away with the hazardous bus route and children from Redoubt and Woodland may have to walk to school. Mr. Jaynes reported the majority of the fill is finished at the Small Boat Harbor. They have started driving the sheet piling. They will then lay the concrete reamp. The floats are under construction in Anchorage, MINUTES, KENAZ PLANNING ~ ZONING COMMISSION, AUGiJST 23, 1972 gage three ITEM 4; (b) Priorities for'street construction Mr. Jaynes stated he has kept some ordex of_ priorities with some exception, Items #10 ~ 11 East ~ West Pipeline Routes have been moved to the bottom of the list because of no demand, Mr. Jaynes reported there is a new type of seal coating called slurry seal he would like to try, Tt has sand mulsified with black top and is laid cold, It has. met with success in other areas. It is a cheaper process. Mr. Jaynes further stated that when the Small Boat Harbor is finished, he will add a road to the facility on the list of priorities. ITEM 4: (c) Zoning problems Beaver Loop area. Deferred until the next meeting. Mr, Jaynes stated theee ~s a need for clar~f%catzon on parts of the Zoning Ordnance. ~ MEETING ADJOURNED 8;45 P.M.
