Members Absent - Al Cruver, Ruby Coyle, Fred Korpinen, Jim Els Eck poppin. PUBLIC HEARING Pro osed Trailer Ordinance Chairman Al Hudson officially opened the public hearin at 7:00 P.M, g Due to the lack of participation from the public Cha' Hudson closed the public hearing at 7:45 p,M, irman Chairman Hudson re-opened the public hearing at 7:50 P.M. due to late comers who misinterpreted the time of the ub hearing, p llc Those in attendance were Mrs. Ed Ambarian, who resides on Ames Road, off Beaver Loop, and Mr. ~ Mrs. Clifford Heus who live on Beaver Loop. Those present wanted to know wh tween where you can and can't havehtrailers,dividing line be- It was pointed out b Mr. have to allow trailers wherecmost ofdthemlarenanddsou haat you have some place as a starting point, y Ve to Section 14-83 (a) of the proposed ordinance states: "for regulation purposes, the City shall be divided into two areas, with the common boundary being Main St. and Main St. extended to the northern boundary of the City limits as shown on the official zoning map of the City of Kenai." Mr. Hackney then pointed out on the zoning map the above mentioned areas, Mrs. Heus asked why there wasn't some provision made in the ordinance for trailers to be put on a permanent foundation. Chairman Hudson stated that if trailers were put on a permanen foundation, the owners would be less inclined to build a t manent structure and move the trailer out. per- MINUTES, KENAI PLANNING ~ ZONING COMMISSION MEETING, OCTOBER 25, 1972 Pa ge Mrs. Ambarian wanted to know how many businesses are operatin } from trailers. g Chairman Hudson stated that he didn't have any idea as to how many were operating from trailers. Mrs. Heus wanted to know how a trailer on a foundation is assessed. Mr. Hackney stated that according to the Borough, a trailer is a trailer, with or without a foundation, and the rate is the same. Mrs. Heus asked about how they could go about getting their area excluded from trailers. Chairman Hudson suggested that the or more signatures of the residents givingpinltheirwarea5and present it before the Planning ~ Zoning Commission. Chairman Hudson further stated that before sending the proposed ordinance to Council, they would try to find out a means by which people in a particular area, if they are in an area where trailers are allowed, could get their in- dividual area excluded from trailers. Those present at the public hearing were highly in favor of the ordinance, but felt they would like to see the area where trailers are excluded, enlarged. Having no more participation from the public, Chairman Hudson closed the public hearing at 8:40 p.M,
