AL HUDSON -CHAIRMAN
ROLL CALL: Members present -Ruby Coyle, AI Cruver, Ron Malston, Nick Poppin
and Chairman AI Hudson

PUBLIC HEARING -Conditional Use Permit -Coyle
Mrs. Coyle related the contractor for the Kenai River Bridge has contacted
them regarding purchasing gravel from them for the bridge. The pit will
have a 300 ft. screen on Barbara Drive and a 200 ft. screen on Beaver Loop.
There will be a haul road from the pit to the bridge approach route and will
not be hauled on Beaver Loop. Mr. ~ Mrs. Coyle are asking fora cond-
itional use permit.
Chairman Hudson opened the meeting for a public hearing and asked for
comments.
Chester Cone stated he has property on Barbara Drive. His only objection
is the attitude of the contractor. One year ago his company and other
companies were contracted and signed an agreement with the State for
part of the gravel for the bridge. The contractor is ignoring these and
he feels it is not kosher for the contractor to ignore them.
Mr. Cone asked Mrs. Coyle if they asked for specified amounts and she
related 250, 000 yards more or less. Mr. Cone stated his contract reads
for 100, 000 yards of classified material .
Chairman Hudson asked for comments on screening or the area in general.
It was the general consensus the screening was adequate.
Loretta Knackstedt, a property owner on Barbara Drive, sent a letter
stating she has no objections to the borrow pit.
Mr. Cone then asked if they were going to set up an asphalt plant in
the pit.
Chairman Hudson stated that if they wanted to do this, it would be a
separate action and come back to the Planning Commission.
