New Baseball Field e. f. g• ITEM 5: ADJOURN CITY OF KENAI PLANNING ~ ZONING (8/28/74) ROLL CALL: ALSO PRESENT: OLD BUSINESS: NEW BUSINESS: Jon Nelson, Ruby Coyle, Nels Kjelstad, Al Gruver, and Jim Elson Jack Williford and Rick Baldwin, City Attorney Meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman, Jon Nelson. Jim Elson Moved, seconded by Jon. Nelson, for approval of the minutes. There was no old business. A. City Park Subdivision Al Cruver explained his subdivision. Nels Kjelstad questioned access to the unsubdivided lots to the west. Nels moved for approval with following stipulations: 1. Right-of-way. be shown for access to lands to west. 2. Ownership be shown on all four sides. Seconded by Ruby Coyle. 3. Covenant for assessments. Passed unanimously with Al Cruver abstaining. B. Re-subdivision of Lot 1, Block 6, Townsite of Kenai. Jim Elson read a letter from surveyor and Borough Planning Staff. Move for approval by Ruby Coyle, seconded by Nels Kjelstad. Passed unanimously. C. Jack Williford - Trainer Ordinance Rick Baldwin explained status of current zoning ordinance including trailer ordinance. ...continued PLANNING $ ZQNLNG - 2 - 8/2$/74 1. Williford stated that he has 2-1/2 acres and option to purchase another 2-1/2 acres. He stated he~ has affidavits from adjoining land owners stating they have no objection to a trailer being placed. Ruby Coyle asked if it would be on a foundation and Williford stated it would be on a foundation.' It was determined that the Commission had no authority to act; however, should the trailer ordinance pass the Borough prior to the installation of the trailer, Mr. Williford realized that a variance would be required and that the Commission may require replacement of the trailer within a reasonable time. D. Nels Kjelstad moved to recommend to the City Council for their approval to forward to the Kenai Borough, the City of Kenai's City Zoning Ordinance. Jim Elson seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. E. Baseball Field - Oilers Presented by Nels Kjelstad in behalf of the Oilers organization. The Oilers first choice is in the area of the present Spur Field. Jim Elson moved to give the Planning Commission's concurrence with the Oiler organization as to their selection of site, (known as SW4 of Sec. 33, T6-NR 11W SM), for park purposes containing a facility for the Oiler ball field. Ruby Coyle seconded the motion. Passed with Nels Kjelstad abstaining. # # # #
