Phil Bryson reported that the Commission had unanimously supported the purchase of
Chester Cone's property under the Exxon Valdez Small Parcel Acquisition Program.
c. Administration
Loretta Harvey reported that the car crusher had arrived and the Clarion had carried
an article that day regarding K&O Towing and the plans for the crusher.

10. PERSONS PRESENT NOT SCHEDULED
Gus Rodes, 207 Birch, noted that he had been sited for a violation which did not fall
under Title 14.20 Kenai Zoning Code. He maintained that he was never given a
definition of junk vehicles and asked for the Planning and Zoning Commission to
define these vehicles. The judge has not ruled on his case yet. Rodes said he was
running for Council and asked the Commission to sign his petition.

A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
KENAI RECOMMENDING THAT THE ATTACHED LANDSCAPING/SITE PLAN
REVIEW BE APPROVED SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
WHEREAS, the attached Landscaping/Site Plan Review was submitted for
and received 1994.
WHEREAS, the City of Kenai Planning and Zoning Commission finds this plan
provides for orderly and safe development within the City commensurate with
protecting the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens, and provides adequate and
convenient open spaces, light and air in order to avoid congestion of commercial and
industrial areas; and,
WHEREAS, the plan appears to provide for landscaping and/or the retention of natural
vegetation in conjunction with commercial and industrial development within the City;
and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of landscaping is to visually enhance the City's appearance
and reduce erosion and storm runoff, and the plan appears to meet this criteria.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF KENAI THAT THE LANDSCAPING/SITE PLAN BE
APPROVED AS SUBMITTED.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
A public hearing has been scheduled for the Planning and Zoning Commission
Meeting of August 24, 1994 for a:
Conditional Use Permit for a Steamcteaning Office and Storage Area, for
property described as Lot 7, Block 7 Mommsens S/D Add #2, (1127 First
Street).
The Meeting will commence at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 210
Fidalgo, Kenai, Alaska. Anyone wishing to present testimony concerning this permit
should do so at the hearings or submit written comments to the City of Kenai,
Planning Department, 210 Fidalgo, Suite 200 Kenai Alaska 99611-7794 prior to
