RESOLUTION NO. 2025-69

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT AWARD FOR THE CITY OF KENAI ARCHITECTURAL
SERVICES PROJECT.
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals was released on October 29, 2025 with proposals due on November
20, 2025 for the City of Kenai Architectural Services project; and,
WHEREAS, two proposals were received

K+A designstudios 289.50
MCG Explore Design 279.61; and,
WHEREAS, K+A designstudios was the highest-ranking proposal with a cost of $363,730 for architectural
design services; and,
WHEREAS, the proposals were determined to be responsive and responsible; and,
WHEREAS, the architectural services will design several improvements and renovations for the Senior
Center, Vintage Pointe, Animal Control Building and City Hall; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to award the contract to K+A designstudios.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA:
Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with K+A designstudios in the
amount of $363,730 for the City of Kenai Architectural Services project.
Section 2. That this Resolution takes effect immediately upon passage.

SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2025-69 - Authorizing a Contract Award for the City of
Kenai Architectural Services Project.
This memo requests Council's approval to award a contract for the City of Kenai Architectural
Services Contract. The project was released for proposals and two proposals were received.
Proposals were reviewed and scored by and evaluation committee and scores are as follows:

K+A designstudios was the highest ranking proposer for the project with an associated cost of
$363,730 for the architectural design services.
The Architectural Services project will consist of design work for reroofing the canopy at the Senior
Center, modifying the front entry at the Senior Center, kitchen, bathroom and elevator renovations
at Vintage Pointe, reroofing the Animal Control Building and HVAC, exterior, front entry and
elevator improvements at City Hall.
Award of this agreement is in the best interest of the City. Council's approval is respectfully
requested.
