HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ1994-12A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF KENAI, RECOMMENDING THE CITY COUNCIL OF KENAI, ALASKA AUTHORIZE PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT - RURAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (CDBG--REDI) PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on March 9, 1994, to obtain a Citizen Participation Plan and Community Assessment; and, WHEREAS, as a result of the testimony obtained at this public hearing, the Planning and Zoning Commission would recommend to the Council of the City of Kenai to provide improved accessibility to City owned buildings for people with disabilities; and, WHEREAS, the City of Kenai is an applicant for a grant in the amount of $ 50~,000_.0~ from the Alaska Department of Community and Regional Affairs (hereinafter "Department"), under the CDBG-REDI program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Planning and Zoning Commission recommends to Council that the City Manager, Thomas J. Manninen, of the City of Kenai, be hereby authorized to negotiate and execute any and all documents required for granting and managing funds on behalf of this organization. Be It Further Resolved and Recommended that, City Manager, Thomas J. Manninen, be authorized to execute subsequent amendments to said grant agreement to provide for adjustments to the project within the scope of services or tasks, based upon the needs of the project.
