Members Present: Jim Czarnezki, Terri Carter, George Heim, Ricky Gease, Bruce King, Sean Wedemeyer, Jack Sinclair, and Tim Stevens. B. The Minutes, minutes not approved, did not have a quorum. C. Agenda Changes and Approval, no changes, did not have s quorum. II. Public Comments /Presentations Homer Electric Association, Mike Salzetti and Joe Gallagher gave presentation over the Grant Lake Hydro Project. 111. REPORTS A. Agency and Government Reports a. State Parks, Jack Sinclair, as you know we've been looking at board appointments; the director came down last week and did interviews with the 4 applicants. Right now we have picked 2 of the 4 to go up to the commissioner. We will be advertising again for the third board seat. Expect that the commissioner will be appointing those seats and anticipate by the December meeting that those 2 seats will be filled. We are in the process of re -doing the brochure for the Kenai River Special Management Area. The Kenai River Sportfishing Association is going to lend some assistance. Will try improving content of the brochure. Along with that request, I would like the board to look at the Kenai River Special Management Area webpage and let us know your suggestions for updating it. In addition to that, the director asked that we jazz up the webpage for the Kenai River Special Management Area Advisory board. My goal is by the January meeting, I would like to see us update and create our own webpage. b. DEC, Tim Stevens, last month I mentioned that we had a of couple contracts, one was to do a peer review of the Kenai River turbidity study. The other was the contract for the City of Kenai to help develop their fish waste management plan for beaches. We are very close in issuing the contract for the peer review for the Kenai River Turbidity report. c. ADF &G, Vania/ Begich, was not present. d. USF &WS- Schmidt/Loranger, was not present. e. USFS /Chugach- Bobbie Jo Kolodziejski, was not present. f. City of Kenai, Sean Wedemeyer, project that has been in process Alaska Ave to the beach, which includes a bridge that was donated We have put it out to bid, the current permits do not allow us to ford permits. The permits also didn't allow us to move material from the for material removal. I've resubmitted permit applications. 9. h. B. Committee a. b. City of Soldotna, Peter Micciche was not present. Kenai Peninsula Borough, nothing to report. Reports President's Report, nothing to report. Habitat, Bruce King, met today and discussed the turbidity studies. We want to start thinking about possible solutions that might come out of that. Jack Sinclair, we are trying to get all presentations that were given at the Symposium put on a website so everyone can access them. Survey was sent out and we had about 30 people who have completed it. d. River Use, George Heim, had a short meeting today; we discussed the proposal through Alaska Recreation Management (ARM); we talked a little about motorboat use and anchoring around the Russian River Ferry area and talked a little about turbidity, we just had general discussions. e. Permits, did not meet. f. Legislative /Government Activities did not meet. g. Board Development, did not meet. h. Agenda /Board Structure /Housekeeping did not meet. IV. OLD BUSINESS - none V. NEW BUSINESS - none VI. CORRESPONDENCE — Jack Sinclair will send a letter to the Kenai Peninsula Borough to see who will be appointed to board. VII. PUBLIC COMMENT Sitka Pierce with Forest Service, asked about being on the habitat committee and what it was about. VIII. ADJOURNMENT A. Board Comments Jack Sinclair thanked Jim Czarnezki for serving on the KRSMA board. Ricky Gease presented the $5000 Reward poster, for information leading to the conviction of someone introducing northern pike into Kenai Peninsula waters. Attended the Fish Habitat Partnership meeting in Anchorage, they will be having a meeting on the Kenai Peninsula, still working on the details of the host agency. Tim Stevens thanked Jim Czarnezki for serving on the board. Sean Wedemeyer commented on the October 131h, 2011 minutes, under New Business, Resolution 2011 -3 should read: "from January 1, 2018 to January 1, 2015 ". B.
