CITY OF KENAI
ORDINANCE N0.2071-2004
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, FINDING THAT
CERTAIN CITY-OWNED LAND, IDENTIFIED AS LOTS 1 8~ 2, BLOCK 6, MOMMSENS
S/D REPEAT OF ADDITIONS 1 ~ 2, LOCATED AT 2402 8~ 2406 CALIFORNIA AVENUE
IN KENAI, ARE REQUIRED FOR A PUBLIC PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Kenai acquired these parcels (KPB Parcel Nos. 3911016 8~
3911015) through tax and special assessment foreclosures; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2057-2004 found the properties were not required for a
public purpose and could be sold to the public; and,
WHEREAS, in preparation for a foreclosure sale, it was noted there is a water meter for
service to Wildwood on one of the parcels; and,
WHEREAS, Wildwood has been considering changes to their water system and both
parcels maybe needed to provide access; and,
WHEREAS, Kenai Municipal Code 22.05.050 provides for the dedication of lands for a
public purpose if so determined by the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the property is needed for a public purpose.
WHEREAS, taxes through the judgment year for a total of X2,976.24 will need to be
paid to the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA, that certain City-owned land, identified as Lots 1 8~ 2, Block 6, Mommsens
S/D Replat 0f Additions 1 8~ 2, located at 2402 8~ 2406 California Avenue in Kenai, are
required for a public purpose.
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA this 20th day of October,
2004.
