HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2409-2009a ~ 3~- _ Suggested by: Administration eh~~=~~( CITY OF KENAI KENA~ SKA ORDINANCE NO. 2409-2009 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, INCREASING ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $1,092.40 IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR DATAMASTER TRAINING REIMBURSEMENTS FROM THE ALASKA urGHtt~Ay SP.FETY OFFICE (AHSO;. WHEREAS, the Kenai Police Department was awarded a grant by the Alaska. Highway Safety Office to send Officer Mitch Langseth to refresher training as a Datamaster Supervisor, and also to send Officer Kelly George to the initial Datamaster Supervisor Training; and, WHEREAS, the Datamaster is a breath test instrument vital to the successful prosecution of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) cases, and Datamaster Supervisors are the designated police personnel who perform regular maintenance on these instruments; and, WHEREAS, the City of Kenai paid for the training initially, and the Police Department is now seeking $1,092.4G in reimbursements from. the Alaska Highway Safety Office ($333.65 for Officer Langseth's training, and $758.75 Officer George's training). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, that estimated revenues and appropriations be increased as follows: General Fund Increase Estimated Revenues: State Grants $1,092.40 Increase Appropriations: Police -Transportation $1,092.40 PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI ASKA, this 20th day of May, 2009. ~~-~r~ ~ PAT PORTER, MAYOR ATTEST: ~~ Carol L.
