HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2420-2009f KENAI, ALASKA AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, INCREASING ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $30,000 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A POLICE CRUISER DESTROYED DURING PURSUIT OF A SUSPECT. WHEREAS, a police cruiser was damaged beyond repair on May 19, 2009 while in pursuit of a suspect; and, WHEREAS, the City is likely to receive insurance proceeds from either the suspect's insurance or through the City's uninsured /underinsured coverage; and, WHEREAS, it is likely to be months before all insurance issues are resolved; and, WHEREAS, the delivery time once orders for police vehicles is placed can be several months; and, WHEREAS, the Police Department would like to start the process of replacement immediately; and, WHEREAS, the General Fund can expedite the process by appropriating the funds and be reimbursed when insurance proceeds become available. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, that estimated revenues and appropriations be increased as follows: General Fund: Increase Estimated Revenue Appropriation of Fund Balance Increase Appropriations Police Machinery Equipment PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, this 15th day of July, 2009.
