Freas, City Clerk Approved by Finance: CITY OF KENAI ORDINANCE NO. 2429 -2009 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, INCREASING ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY 56,350 IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR A LIBRARY GRANT. WHEREAS, the City of Kenai received a grant from the State of Alaska, Department of Education Early Development for the purchase of books at the Library; and, WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Kenai to appropriate these grant funds for the purpose intended. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA that estimated revenues and appropriations be increased as follows: PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, this 19th day of August, 2009. As per the grant award, the amount of $6,350 is to be used for the purchase of books and should be deposited in account 001 -440 -4666. The library director completes an application each year in order to receive these funds. Certain minimum standards must be met in order to receive this grant. These include reporting requirements, number of hours that the library is open to the public, minimum educational requirements continuing education requirements and for the, and management requirements regarding policies. 1992
