HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2176-2006Suggested by: Administration CITY OF KENAI ORDINANCE NO. 2176-2006 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA INCREASING ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $17,18'7.05 IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR AN ALASKA HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM GRANT. WHEREAS, the Kenai Police Department joins with other law enforcement agencies statewide to support Alaska Highway Safety Office (AHSO) traffic safety programs; and, WHEREAS, in May of 2006, the AHSO awarded the Kenai Police Department $25,200 in police overtime wages to work DUI and Seatbelt overtime patrols from May 2006 to January 2007; and, WHEREAS, Kenai Police Officers have worked extra patrols totaling $8,012.95 in AHSO overtime for the months of May and June of 2006, and reimbursement funds have been requested from AHSO; and, WHEREAS, $17,187.05 of anticipated overtime remains of the original $25,200 awarded to the City of Kenai from AHSO; and, WHEREAS it is in the best interest of the City of Kenai to appropriate these funds for the stated purpose of the grant.
