RESOLUTION NO. 2003-42

A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING AN'
APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF A FEDERAL GRANT FOR THE CITY OF KENAI
PLANNING DEPARTMENT TO ATTEND SECTION 106 TRAINING.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the National Park Service Historic Preservation Act of 1966,
certain federal share matching grants for historic preservation projects are available to
certified local governments; and,
WHEREAS, the City Administration has prepared such a federal share matching grant for
Planning Department staff training.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, Linda L. Snow, to
submit an application to the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, for
a federal share matching grant for the City of Kenai Planning Department to attend
Section 106 training.
Section 2. The Planning Department is established as the agent for the City of
Kenai for administration of this project.
Section 3. If the City of Kenai is awarded the grant, an ordinance will be
introduced to provide matching funds for this project.
Section 4.
