Re: Account Transfer
A new police crtuser (Crown Vic) is cm-rently at the city shop for installation of
accessories. The cruiser needs a new video camera system and a new radar unit. T'he
video camera is listed as a $4,000 line item in the Police Small Tools account for FY09,
but the full X4,025 needed to purchase the video camera is no longer in that account
because a Motorola mobile radio was purchased out of the Small Tools account for
$4,265 in November. The mobile radio was a budgeted line item under the Police
Machinery and Equipment account.
The Police Machinery and Equipment Account currently has an tiulexpended balance of
$14,107 ($6,000 of which is a Line-item for evidence lockers). Aside from Che evidence
lockers, the entire Machinery and Equipment account was budgeted to purchase and
equip police vehicles.
I am requesting to transfer $4,265 (spent on the mobile radio in Nov. 08) and an
additional $2,010 (for a new radar emit) from the Police Machinery and Equipment
Account to the Police Small 't'ools. This total transfer of $6,275 will allow the Police
Deparhnent to equip The new police cruiser with a video catnera and a radar limit.
Police Machinery and Equipment-Unexpended Balance $14,107
'I'rans~Per for cost of mobile radio (purchased in Nov. 08) - 54,265
'Transfer for purchase of radar unit
Remaining Unexpended Balance After Transfer
- 52,010
$7,832
