A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AWARDING
THE BID TO BRENNTAG PACIFIC, INC. FOR MISCELLANEOUS CHEMICALS
AUGUST 2009.
WHEREAS, the following bids were received on August 6, 2009:

RESOLUTION NO. 2009 -53
Suggested by: Administration
WHEREAS, Brenntag Pacific, Inc.'s bid meets the bid specifications; and,
WHEREAS, the term of this contract is August 20, 2009 to June 30, 2010 with two
one -year mutual options to extend; and,
WHEREAS, estimated annual expenditures under this contracted are expected to be
$74,907; and,
WHEREAS, the recommendation from the City Administration is to award the bid to
Brenntag Pacific, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Kenai has determined that Brenntag Pacific,
Inc.'s bid is a responsible bid and award to this bidder would be in the best interest of
the City; and,
WHEREAS, sufficient monies are appropriated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA, that the bid for Miscellaneous Chemicals August 2009 be awarded to
Brenntag Pacific, Inc.
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, this 19th day of August
2009.

SUBJECT: MISCELLANEOUS CHEMICALS BID FURNISH AND DELIVER
AUGUST 2009
The City opened two sealed bids at 2PM 6 August 2009 regarding the subject
bid. This bid is to furnish and deliver Sodium Bisulfate 38% to 40 Sodium
Hypochlorite 12.5 and Standard Hydrated Lime to our Wastewater Treatment
Plant and Water Sewer Department. The estimated annual usage of the
chemicals was provided in the bid documents.
I recommend that Brenntag Pacific be awarded the contract as a result of this
bid.
