Freas, City Clerk Approved by Finance: CITY OF KENAI RESOLUTION NO. 2010 -42 Suggested by: Administration PAT PORTER, MAYOR Mary Bondurant From: eric.g.helms@faa.gov Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2009 8:55 AM To: Mary Bondurant Subject: Re: old arff trucks Mary, The textbook answer is to sell the old ARFF vehicle and reimburse /return the AIP portion of the proceeds (i.e. 95 What we usually see is sale of the ARFF and instead apply the AIP portion of the proceeds to another AIP funded project. If for some reason you do not want to sell the truck (for example the muni wants to give to the fire department for some purpose) then the value of the truck needs to be determined (i.e. blue book) and that value should be reimbursed or applied to one of your other AIP funded projects. The mechanics of applying the value /sale of the ARFF to another of your AIP grants will look like a deduct on the grant close -out. For reference you can look at the 2006 RSA grant close -out worksheet where the profits from sale of the drawing and specs were deducted. The same is done and the description reads 'Sale of ARFF vehicle purchased by grant 3 -02- 0142- 011 1991'. G.
