RESOLUTION NO. 2006-31
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, A SKA, SUPPORTING
THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COPPER, GOLD AND MOLYBDE T M MINE AT THE
PEBBLE PORPHYRY PROSPECT NORTHWEST OF LAKE IL MNA, ALASKA.
WHEREAS, Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. has annou ed its intentions to develop
the Pebble Go1d-Copper-Moiybdenum Porphyry Prospe t northwest of Lake Iliamna,
Alaska into a large mine operation; and,
WHEREAS, Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. cont' ues to demonstrate a commitment
to the residents of the Bristol Bay Region, Lake d Peninsula Borough, and the City of
Kenai continuing on-site updates providing th latest information on their plans; and,
WHEREAS, the Pebble Porphyry Mine and elated infrastructure is to be constructed in
a manner ensuring adequate environmen al protection for the regions' wildlife and
other subsistence resources and is to b constructed in a culturaiiy sensitive and
responsible manner, resulting in hun eds of high-paying, long-term and rewarding
jobs available to residents of Alaska.
