HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2008-72v;~\ CITY OF KENAI Suggested by: Administration RESOLUTION NO. 2008-72 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A RESTAURANT CONCESSION AGREEMENT FOR THE KENAI MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. WHEREAS, on October 31, 2008, the City of Kenai requested proposals to lease the airport terminal restaurant for a period five years; and, WHEREAS, two responsive Requests for Proposal were received on November 18, 2008, for the contract years January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2013; and, WHEREAS, the bid amounts received were as follows: Bidder Per Month Roger & Linda Petrey $1, 706.25 Stephen England ~1, 205.00 and, WHEREAS, Roger and Linda Petrey submitted the highest responsible bid for the restaurant concession at the Kenai Municipal Airport; and, WHEREAS, the City Administration has determined this bid meets all requirements. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA the City Manager is authorized to enter into a restaurant concession agreement with Roger and Linda Petrey for the Kenai Municipal Airport for the period January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2013. Six (6; interested parties picked up RFP packets with one party returning a packet. Two (2) complete Requests for Proposal were received on Tuesday, November 18. Proposals were reviewed and evaluated for experience and qualifications, management and operation plans, customer service plans and the proposed annual rental rate. It is the recommendation of the selection committee that the Airport Restaurant Concession be awarded to Roger and Linda Petry. All RFP requirements were addressed; in connection with the offer they agree to pay a fee of $20,475.00 for each year of the agreement.
