CITY OF KENAI
RESOLUTION NO. 2®O?-6I.
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AWARDING A
THREE YEAR CONTRACT FOR THE OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE KENAI
RECREATION CENTER TO THE BOYS 8r, GIRLS CLUB OF THE KENAI PENINSULA,
KENAI UNIT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 130,000 PER ANNUM, WITH AN OPTION TO
RENEW FOR TWO ADDITIONAL YEARS.
WHEREAS, the present agreement between the Boys 8v Girls Club and the City of
Kenai will expire on November 30, 2007; and,
WHEREAS, the Boys 8v Girls Club has successfully managed the Kenai Recreation
Center for the preceding four years; and,
WHEREAS, management of the Center has resulted in substantial cost savings to the
City; and,
WHEREAS, the Boys & Girls Club is uniquely qualified to operate and manage youth
recreation facilities; and,
WHEREAS, the Boys & Girls Club has proposed to operate and manage the Center for
the same cost to the City (excluding a $ 5,000 per year increase for Sunday openings)
as was agreed to in 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA, that a three year contract for the operation and management of the Kenai
Recreation Center be awarded to the Boys 8v Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula, Kenai
Unit, for $ 130,000 per annum, with an option to renew for two additional years. .
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, this seventh day of
November, 2007.
