The vehicle was purchased for use by Seasonal Enforcement Officers during the summer months, and for use by police officers year round. The vehicle was soft- marked with police accessories, having police lighting, push bumper, gun mounts, etc. The F -150 was totaled in a motor vehicle crash on February 10, 2012. At least $2,752.75 in police vehicle accessories were destroyed in the crash. Seasonal Enforcement Officers will start work around May 1. The Police Department needs to replace the totaled vehicle as soon as possible to allow time for the City Shop to install police accessories. If we were to order a pickup it would take too long to put the vehicle in service, and will impede the operations of SEOs. On 2/29/12, 1 submitted requests for written quotes to Stanley Ford, Cal Worthington Ford, and Kendall Ford. I received the following quotes /replies: Cal Worthington Ford $27,767 Stanley Ford $36,116 Kendall Ford Do not have in stock, would have to order. 1 am requesting an ordinance appropriating $31,000 to purchase the F -150 XLT pickup and accompanying accessories. 1 am requesting to purchase the pickup from Cal Worthington Ford. l have attached a copy of the written quote form from Cal Worthington. 1992 "ale with a Past, C# with a Future 210 Ada Igo Avenue, Kenai, Alaska 99511-7794 Telephone: 907-283-7535 ext 221 / FAX: 907-253-3014 IP Written Quote Form Item to be e Quantity Requested.: item to be Delivered b Description: lion or PwtEg& I /Model: alga Or t3wrnS 1 a ■ Vendor Won:nation: Vendor Name: 69/ Ses Person: Ouot Zee' g/22," Price Good Until: t/e// LV 3-19/e /t73e 5t,4K4 6 (1/2)(V fo litton barall,a; trappacataa) 77_5` 7 Ps- Quantity A.vailable: Unit Price:
