The Alaska State Library provides travel funds each year for support staff members to
attend a continuing education workshop or conference. This year they are allowing each
library to apply for one grant. Each library may apply either for $1,000 for a staff
member to attend a conference in state or for $1,500 for a staff member to attend a
conference out -of- state. These funds can be spent on travel, lodging, per diem and
registration expenses.
This year Janina Eiia has received funds ($1,500) to attend the Association for Rural and
Small Libraries Conference in Raleigh, NC at the end of September.
