HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2647-2012p . y \\ the aBy of // KENAIALAS Suggested by: Administration AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, INCREASING ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $1,500 IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR AN ALASKA STATE LIBRARY GRANT FOR LIBRARY PERSONNEL TRAVEL. WHEREAS, the City of Kenai has received $1,500 Continuing Education Grant from the Alaska State Library Museums for attendance at the Association for Rural and Small Libraries Conference to be held in Raleigh, North Carolina; and, WHEREAS, these funds are to pay for staff continuing professional education travel; and, WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Kenai to provide for the training of its employees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA that estimated revenues and appropriations be increased as follows: General Fund Increase Estimated Revenues: Library- State Grants $1,500 Increase Appropriations: Library - Travel &, Transportation $1,500 PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, this fifth day of September, 2012. This year they are allowing each library to apply for one grant. Each library may apply either for $1,000 for a staff member to attend a conference in state or for $1,500 for a staff member to attend a conference out -of- state. These funds can be spent on travel, lodging, per diem and registration expenses. This year Janina Eiia has received funds ($1,500) to attend the Association for Rural and Small Libraries Conference in Raleigh, NC at the end of September.
