As soon as I was made aware of this assumption I investigated and confirmed in several locations at Vintage Pointe and the Senior Center that there is not an existing weather barrier. The weather barrier is required to meet the siding manufacturer's installation requirements to be eligible for a warranty. The addition of the weather barrier to the plans and specifications resulted in bids that exceeded the engineer's estimate and subsequently require the additional appropriation of funds above and beyond what was requested in the original Ordinance 2713 -2013. Rick, The $40,000 appropriated in the Buildings budget for the Senior Center portion of the siding project will lapse June 30. Based on the recently completed design that was unavailable at the time of the FY13 appropriation, I estimate it will require $62,100 (estimated $65,000 less $2,900 already spent on design) to complete this work.
