RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -57
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, RECOGNIZING
THE GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE FRIENDS OF THE KENAI COMMUNITY
LIBRARY WHICH WAS CRITICAL TO THE SUCCESS OF THE KENAI COMMUNITY
LIBRARY EXPANSION AND REMODEL PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the Kenai Community Library was substantially undersized to provide
quality services to the Kenai Area; and,
WHEREAS, during the past 20 years there had been several unsuccessful attempts to
undertake a Library expansion project; and,
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Kenai Community Library has generously provided
funding for the Kenai Community Library for many years; and,
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Kenai Community Library provided funding in excess of
$500,000, thereby making this project possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA, that the Friends of the Kenai Community Library are recognized for their
generous contributions which were critical to the success of the Kenai Community
Library Expansion and Remodel Project.
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, this 20th day of July,
2011.
