Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 2012-53e Suggested by: Administration CITY OF KENAI KENAI, AIA SKA RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -53 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE ERECTION OF A 55' X 120' SOFT -SIDED ENCLOSURE TO ALASKA DREAMS, INC. FOR THE TOTAL PRICE OF $39,850. WHEREAS, with the closure of the British Petroleum (BP) Gas to Liquids Plant, BP has donated a 55'X 120' soft -sided tent enclosure to the City; and, WHEREAS, the City requested quotes to erect the tent prior to snow fall; and, WHEREAS, Alaska Dreams, Inc. quote of $39,850 has been selected despite being $1,000 higher than the other quote received; and, WHEREAS, Alaska Dreams, Inc. sold this structure to BP and continues to be the Alaska retailer for the tent; and, WHEREAS, as the Alaska retailer for these tents, Alaska Dreams, Inc. has significantly more experience in the erection of these tents and will provide additional services such as minor fabric repairs during erection that the other contractor is not able to provide, and Alaska Dreams, Ine.'s proposal also included the required foundation material valued at more than the $1,000 difference in their proposal. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, to award a contract for erection of the 55'X 120' tent to Alaska Dreams, Inc in the amount of $39,850.
