HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2013-20Suggested by: Administration CITY OF KENAI RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -20 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A KUBOTA 72" FRONT -MOUNT RIDING MOWER WITH COLLECTION SYSTEM FROM EQUIPMENT SOURCE INCORPORATED FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $27,697. WHEREAS, the following bids were received on March 29, 2013: Bidder Total Bid Craig Taylor Equipment Company $37,000 Equipment Source Incorporated $27,697 and, WHEREAS, Equipment Source Incorporated provided the lowest responsible bid and award to this bidder would be in the best interest of the City; and WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Department provides turf maintenance to the City's parks, land and facilities and is in need of a mower with a collection system; and, WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the FY2013 Parks Machinery & Equipment account; and, WHEREAS, the recommendation from the City Administration is to award the contract to Equipment Source Incorporated for the total cost of $27,697. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, the purchase for the project entitled 72" Front -mount Mower with Collection System is awarded to Equipment Source Incorporated for the total amount of $27,697. Frates, Parks & Recreation Director DATE: April 1, 2013 SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2013 -20 - Mower with Collection System Purpose of this correspondence is to request approval to purchase a new 72" Kubota front -mount riding mower with a collection system. Funds for this purchase are available through the FY13 General Fund (Parks, Recreation & Beautification) Machinery & Equipment account. This mower will be used to facilitate our summer mowing operation and provide an efficient means of picking up grass clippings in some of the larger turf areas such as sports fields, right -of -ways and greenways. The City opened sealed bids on March 29, 2013 at 2PM. A total of two bids were received. These bids were reviewed and it has been determined that Equipment Source Incorporated was the lowest responsive bidder. Attached is Resolution No. 2013 -20 recommending award of the purchase to Equipment Source Incorporated for the total cost of $27,697.00. Attachment
